Scottsville-Allen County is located 20 miles southeast of Bowling Green Kentucky, 50 miles north of Nashville Tennessee and only 12 miles from beautiful Barren River Lake. Founded in 1815, this progressive community offers small-town hospitality with access to metropolitan amenities.

The first Dollar General store opened in Scottsville, Kentucky, on June 1, 1955, the concept was that no item in the store would cost more than one dollar.
